When we launched in London in March 2025, we promised to make giving as easy as ordering a takeaway. Since then, you’ve booked pickups from Hackney to Hammersmith, and we’ve grown to Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds.
Now we’re taking that same idea to the US. Share At Door Step is officially live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
From London to the Bay Area
The UK taught us a lot. Londoners told us about charity-shop restrictions, dragging heavy bags across the city, and drop-off points that were full or closed. Our job was to take those hurdles away and let people give from their own doorstep.
The Bay Area has its own version of the same problem. Distances are longer, most trips mean driving, and drop-off hours rarely fit a working day. So preloved clothes, books and toys sit in garages instead of being used again.
What the UK Brought to the US Launch
- City-by-city growth – we started in London and added cities once pickups were running well. The US follows the same plan, starting with San Francisco, San Jose, Fremont and the Peninsula and South Bay.

- Local charity network – just as UK donations support organisations in UK communities, US donations go to local organisations in the Bay Area.

Clothes, shoes, books, toys and stationery are all welcome, as long as they’re in good, usable condition. If you’d happily give it to a friend, it’s ready to donate.
What It Means for UK Donors
Nothing changes for you. Pickups across London, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds carry on as usual, and the UK team is right here. The US launch is simply the next step for an idea you’ve helped grow.
